"Outstanding job.

Very professional and results oriented.
Today (like every day) we have people telling us unsolicited that it is the best latte/cappuccino/coffee they've ever tasted. The staff is more confident as well.

Money well spent."
cheers,
Adam

I don't know what to say other than that these fine folks know how to run a retailer!  To ensure the quality of their products, they put all of their employee through the Barista Fundamentals course, both owners and the manager through the Trainers Course, and both owners through the Managing Basics course.

With a La Marzocco Mistral, Mazzer grinders, and French Press as the only brewed coffee option... oh yeah, and they offer one cup at a time full-menu brewing via a little machine known as the Clover 1S.  They have a Sivitz air roaster in operations, and 49th Parallel Roasters in Vancouver while Adam perfects his roasting.  In short, this place rocks.

Located in an old school house in the artistic day-tourist town of Burnstown, the Neat™ brand extends to the local market featuring organic produce, jams, soaps, hot sauces, and baking mixes all from within a 100 mile radius that is only open on Friday evenings and Saturdays.

If you find yourself looking for a great cup of coffee while enjoying the Madawaska River, or the rural Ontario culture, Neat™ is well worth going out of your way for.

Joe Mama's Coffee House
4112 S.W. 50th
Amarillo, TX 79109
[Closed]

--Website--

[UPDATE:  Due to unfortunate circumstances, JMCH has closed.  I have been told that they may re-open with a more coffee-focused space in the future.  We will keep this page updated.]

This is an espresso bar, cafe, restaurant, diner, and lounge filling a niche that needed to be addressed.

The owners wanted to provide a place for young people to have fun, study, hang out, grab a bite, and enjoy the finest coffee in Amarillo.  They run a four group Linea and wonderfully roasted coffee, of which they have been expertly trained in its preparation.

They also serve up some of the best brisket I've ever tasted.

Drop by, and let them know that EspressoTrainer.com sent you.

Café Gallo
Gallista Gallery
1913 S. Flores St.
San Antonio, TX

--Website--

This is an espresso bar that JUST opened in the up and coming South Side of San Antonio.

The owner has a stellar culinary background with the likes of Biga on the Banks and Le Reve, just to name a couple.  In other words, this guy knows quality!

It is currently a two-man (well.. two-person, anyway) operation, and BOTH have been trained in exceptional espresso extraction and milk texturing.

Rarely have I ever seen anyone catch on in such a short time.  Keep an eye on the Gallo!

Pay them a visit..
..And when you do, say that EspressoTrainer.com sent you.

WE TOOK THIRD!
The 2007 SCRBC is History!

From left to right:
Clancy Rose(2nd), Patrick Peirce(1st), and Jason Haeger(3rd)

The first annual SCAA South Central Regional Barista Competition is over.  Ten competitors came from companies ranging from shops, roasters, and trainers to come together and battle it out on stage for the title.
Each competitor was required to serve 4 espressos, 4 cappuccinos, and 4 signature beverages in only 15 minutes.

Competitors are judged on taste, efficiency, cleanliness, technical correctness, and presentation.

When all was said and done, three champions emerged, and EspressoTrainer.com was among the only two companies represented in the awards ceremony.
(The other being Caffe Medici in Austin, TX.)

Behind the scenes, the competitors were all very supportive of each other, with such a huge factor of "alliance" present.  This is what it's all about.  Striving for excellence, not as rivals, but as allies in the struggle for coffee perfection and promotion in the South Central Regional market.

We met a lot of great people, had a great time, and look forward to working with some companies who share the EspressoTrainer.com vision of continual improvement in the sourcing, roasting, preparation, serving, and consuming of Specialty Coffee.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to the SCAA, Cuvee Coffee, and the TRA for putting this together.  Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, and others involved who made the SCRBC possible, and to those who were there just to watch, as you make it possible to make progress and gain ground.

Mangia Bevanda
305 Frankford Ave.
Lubbock, TX

--Website--

SOLD:  Mangia Bevanda was sold a few months ago and renamed P&L's Cafe. Unfortunately, Jon and Robyn did not pass on their coffee expertise to the new owners when the ownership was transfered. The cafe has been converted into a more food-centric bistro, however the coffee and espresso aspects are still in full effect. To my knowledge, they are still using AAH! Coffee out of the Dallas area.

This is a shop that I stumbled upon one day to find that they knew nothing at all about espresso, but had a desire to know as much as possible.

This is a shop that I trained, free of charge, to calibrate and work out the kinks in the EspressoTrainer.com training curriculum and style.

The never-to-be-seen-again price tag had no effect on the quality of the training.

This is a business that went from knowing very little to being the home of the self-proclaimed "Best Espresso in Lubbock".

    Drop in for a cappuccino...
..and if you do, tell them EspressoTrainer.com sent you.
